Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first role. It took a long time for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller character. It was a difficult transition for Amy since she needed change from modeling to acting. Models aren't considered great actors, so they usually get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy didn't give up, and eventually she landed bigger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. Amy achieved the fame she had been searching for for more than 10 years after her film called Just Friends came out.
