Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress across Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage as Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She was the second youngest recipient in Oscar History. Canadian actress and New Zealander who, when she was a child, won an Academy Award in 1993 for the best support actress. She played the feisty daughter of Holly Hunter's portrayer in The Piano. The character of Flora McGrath - the daughter to a Scottish muffle pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century was hers at an audition open to all. At nine her age, she was a novice or had none experience with acting. When she moved in the United States, she became an adolescent. Paquin was in a brief role in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was a child on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the TV adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin was also in the role of Queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 movie Amistad. She portrayed teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
